January 5th prayer

January 5th prayer... 

Father God thank you that you hear our prayers. You know our hearts and also know our cries when we have no words. Your word says to pray continually. I am humbled Lord that you want to hear from me all day. That You want to be a part of my daily routine. You have shown me Lord that prayer is more than lofty words. You love to talk with me and, I am blessed by You. Help me Jesus to always consult you in all that I do. I want to know You more each day! It amazes me Lord that I can talk to you as a friend, as a brother. I love that about Your character.  You listen, and You answer. In my flesh I may not like the answer however, I know that it is for my good. Thank you Jesus for making a way for me to come to the Father with my tiny ideas and my bigger than life problems. He wants it all! My prayer today Lord is for prayer warriors to be birthed in my city, my state, my nation, and in all nations. There is power in prayer for healing our world. Let us rise up from a position of victory because Jesus, you defeated sin and death. Help us to keep a line of communication open with You at all times. In Jesus' name... AMEN.

When we compare ourselves with other people we are creating an open door for the prince of lies. Comparison tells us that we are either better than others, or fall short of what others view as successful. This has never been more of an issue than it is today, with all the social media sites out there. We have started to gauge our relationships by how many "likes" and "shares" we have. When people don't respond in the way we wan t we start to compare ourselves. I guess that person is taller than me, that person has more friends than me, that person has pretty blond hair, that person is skinny or in shape, wow he prays for 3 hours a day! etc. etc. etc. You can fill in the blank here. Praying Like Little Children

Oh how precious are the prayers of little children! They are innocent and, trusting. Children do not judge. They only know they like to make friends. Children should be our examples! If we could see the world through the eyes of a child, we would be in a better place. This is so so true when it comes to prayer. We don’t need to use language that is meant to impress others or, God for that matter. Can you imagine trying to impress God? What a waste of time. God knows everything about you.  When children come together they don't care about color, economics, religious affiliations, or sex. All they care about is making friends. As grown adults, we should follow their lead. Especially in our prayer life. We should want to make friends with God. God wants time with us because He is THE good good Father. The Broken Clay Jars

In ancient times people stored their treasures in pottery jars which were molded by a skilled Potter and then baked until hard. He would decorate them with glaze or, paint and give them an ornate lid. Still, some were more functional and baked without adornment. These were all used to hold sacred scrolls or valuable documents. Pottery jars whether beautifully decorated or purely functional had one thing in common, they were fragile, temporary vessels. Just like these jars were made from earthen clay, our bodies were also formed from the earth. Genesis 2:7 HCSB Then the Lord God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.  Our bodies were created by God for many different purposes.
